Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of PoC solutions and innovation experiments.
- Write clean, maintainable code following established coding standards and design patterns.
- Work alongside the Innovation SDM to drive technical direction.
- Contribute to full SDLC activities: design, implementation, unit/integration testing, and deployment.
- Integrate AI services, APIs, and third-party tools into application workflows.
- Write documentation and automated tests for code delivered.
- Mentor junior engineers and fellowship students.
- Debug and resolve issues across application code and integrations.
- Collaborate with teammates to turn ideas into working prototypes.
- Validate new ideas including AI-assisted solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- May assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead the design and development of complex systems end to end.
- Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Strong understanding of system design fundamentals and software development best practices.
- Experience working with data (SQL, APIs, data transformation).
- Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
- Strong familiarity with Agile development practices, code management, and CI/CD.
- Experience with AI/LLM APIs and prompt engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with LLM platforms and tooling (agents, function/tool calling, orchestration frameworks).
- Experience building voice AI solutions, real-time audio streaming capabilities, or WebSocket-based architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or guide small technical teams.
- Ability to drive technical alignment across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous, exploratory environments.
- Understanding of Git workflows including merging and conflict resolution.
