Responsibilities
- Makes sure the monthly inmate payroll report is correct to follow all policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all processes comply with departmental, state, and ACA standards, including assisting with audits and monthly inmate job audits.
- Interprets policies regarding inmate jobs/classes to help everyone understand and follow them.
- Collects and organizes information about jobs and classes, like job descriptions and reports.
- Handles tasks in a way that makes sure everything is done on time, such as terminations, assignments, payroll, and reporting.
- Manages and directs the work of their team members, helping them use information and make decisions based on laws, rules, and standards.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to one year of full-time professional counseling, employment interviewing, or personnel work, or one year of professional volunteer services work with the Tennessee Department of Correction.
- Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to four years.
- Additional graduate coursework in a social or behavioral science may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis up to one year.
- Professional, clerical, technical, sub-professional, or paraprofessional experience equivalent to five years working in the inmate jobs programs may substitute for education and experience.
