Inland Marine Major Loss Claims Adjuster

About the role

Join us as a Marine Claims Major Loss Adjuster to play your part in transforming the way we help customers manage risk. This role offers opportunities to grow your skills and experience as a valued member of the Claims team.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of Motor Truck Cargo, Vehicle Physical Damage, Car Hauler Liability, Commercial Property, Contractors Equipment, and Warehouse legal Liability claims.
• Proactively investigate and review suspect/fraudulent claims, adhering to AIG's quality standards and 'Treating Customers Fairly' principles.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including medical experts, clients' lawyers, and victims or their legal representatives.
• Provide support to Team Managers and deputize in their absence, assisting with monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling.
• Collaborate with colleagues in underwriting to help improve our products.

Requirements

• Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for marine claims.
• Specialist knowledge of marine technical claims topics is preferred.
• Experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
• Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
• Lateral thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop new ideas and improve working practices.
• Strong communication, time management, administrative, and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• At least some experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
• Specialist knowledge of marine technical claims topics is preferred.
