Responsibilities

• Create coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate, and project potential exposures.
• Set judgmental reserves and develop and implement resolution strategies.
• Manage outside surveyors, attorneys, and experts.
• Negotiate with tow yards to gain release of equipment and cargo.
• Work with underwriting on policy renewals and promote client relationships.

Requirements

• 1 or more years of experience handling Inland Marine Insurance claims, litigation, or other related experience.
• Excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Inland Marine policy forms and Carmack Amendment is preferred.
• State adjuster licenses preferred.
• Experience in direct handling of claims.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Inland Marine Insurance policies and practices.
• Ability to handle complex, large-sized cases and events from a primary perspective.
• Proven ability to negotiate and resolve disputes.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Inland Marine policy forms and Carmack Amendment.
• Experience in handling claims, litigation, or related fields.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The base salary range for positions based in New Jersey is $76,000 - $97,000. Compensation includes base salary and eligibility for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Schedule

Primarily in-office work schedule.
