About the role
The Injury Prevention Specialist provides onsite injury prevention and management as well as health improvement programs for employees. The goals of the position are to provide injury prevention services, early intervention services, and participate in ergonomic assessments.
Responsibilities
- Must be a licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, or a certified Athletic Trainer, eligible to practice in the state of Illinois
- Administer and supervise the program according to safe and established protocol
- Provide hot or cold therapy, massage, non-rigid supports, kinesiotaping, and non-pharmacological pain management and modalities
- Offer 1:1 body mechanics and functional movement training
- Develop and implement range of motion and flexibility exercise programs
- Offer site-wide educational resources and events
- Conduct office ergonomics consultation and assessments
- Provide educational and professional advice to employees on injury prevention and health
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science / Physiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related field)
- State licensure / certification
- Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification
- Ergonomic Certification or training preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial injury prevention and management
- Knowledge of workplace ergonomics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Ability to assess and address ergonomic issues

- Competitive compensation ranging from $25.00-35.00/hr

Schedule
- 8-hours, one day per week
- Onsite hours / day may vary based on the client's expectations
