About the role

As a Production Supervisor in our Injection Molding Department at the Murrysville, PA manufacturing plant, you will play a key role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Production:
- Maintain staffing of full-time and temporary associates to meet customer demand.
- Assign associates to work cells and adjust staffing daily to match workload.
- Meet with Buyer/Planners daily to discuss material shortages, customer demand, and capacity, adjusting as needed.
- Collaborate with plant support groups (Safety, Industrial, Manufacturing, & Quality Engineering).
- Promote Safety 24/7, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain Visual Control Boards per MSA Operating System standards.
- Oversee equipment problems and ensure timely repairs.
- HR:
- Address associates’ personal and work-related issues.
- Interview candidates to fill open positions.
- Enforce MSA policies and procedures, ensuring accountability.
- Create and maintain associates’ training records.
- Communication:
- Daily interaction with associates across multiple shifts per MSA Operating System standards.
- Attend Safety, Staff, department, stand-up, and material management meetings.
- Post daily information on KPIs and department bulletin boards.
- Administrative:
- Approve time for permanent and temporary associates; maintain attendance, vacation, and other data in the Replicon system.
- Maintain department roster, cross-training matrix, and evacuation plan.
- Write up safety documentation, including JSA/SOP records, near-hit, and incident reports.
- Verify and review ECO documentation.
- Approve requisitions and tooling requirements.
- Review, sign off, and reconcile VISA transactions.
- Respond to audit, CQN, and notification findings with root cause and prevention solutions.
- Budget:
- Review department performance and adjust to improve results.
- Assist Production Manager with 6-week departmental projections.
- Review productivity, linearity, or schedule achievement against departmental goals.
- Monitor and investigate job-closeout variances.

Qualifications
This position is available at three career levels based on experience and education:
- Level One:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent academic experience required.
- Two years of supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or military settings may substitute for the degree.
- One year of supervisory or leadership experience (including Group Leader) and two years of manufacturing/warehouse experience required.
- Related military experience may substitute for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Level Two:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent academic experience required.
- Four years of supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or military settings may substitute for the degree.
- Two years of supervisory or leadership experience (including Group Leader) and three years of manufacturing/warehouse experience required.
- Related military experience may substitute for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Level Three:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent academic experience required.
- Three years of supervisory or leadership experience (including Group Leader) and four years of manufacturing/warehouse experience required.
- Related military experience may substitute for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience.
- Master’s degree or certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma principles, Continuous Improvement, and/or EHS initiatives.
- One year of experience in manufacturing.
- Professional work-related experience in Molding or lean manufacturing.
- Industrial Engineering degree.
- Prior MSA experience.
