About Power Factors

Power Factors is a software and solutions provider leading the next generation of clean energy with Unity, one of the most extensive and widely deployed renewable energy management suites (REMS) in the market. The company manages over 300 GW of wind, solar, and energy storage assets globally, serving more than 600 customers and 18,000 sites, representing 25% of the world's renewable energy data. The Unity REMS covers the entire energy value chain, from supervision and control to market analytics. Through open, data-driven applications, the platform enables renewable energy stakeholders to collaborate effectively, automate critical processes, and make informed decisions to optimize asset performance and profitability. Stakeholders receive end-to-end support, including SCADA and PPC solutions, centralized monitoring, performance management, commercial asset management, and field operations management. With deep domain expertise, Power Factors deploys AI-powered analytics at scale, helping organizations optimize assets, accelerate growth, and make better decisions as the world transitions to clean energy.

About the Role

Power Factors is seeking a Principal Implementation Engineer to join its Professional Services team, driving complex and strategic deployments of our platform for renewable energy asset owners and operators. In this role, you will act as a technical and functional expert throughout the customer delivery lifecycle, co-leading the full implementation of our software solutions for clients in solar, wind, and large-scale energy storage. Our platform ingests millions of data points from IoT sensors, cleanses the data, detects performance gaps, identifies early indicators of failure, and provides advanced analytics to optimize asset performance. It also offers tools for action, including case management and work order capabilities. You will play a key role in the organization, combining technical expertise and domain knowledge to support delivery objectives: mentoring teams, improving implementation methods, providing product feedback, and elevating the quality standards of customer deliverables. You will work remotely as part of an international team distributed across the United States, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Greece, India, and the Philippines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects for utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage customers
  • Act as a functional expert for technical clients (performance engineering teams, asset management, operations) regarding platform usage and results interpretation
  • Facilitate technical discovery workshops and translate operational needs into platform configurations (KPIs, dashboards, analytics, data integration)
  • Review and validate implementation deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with industry standards
  • Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) and production readiness, ensuring a smooth transition to support teams
  • Mentor and develop implementation engineers to strengthen renewable energy expertise within the team
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of implementation methods, solution templates, and validation standards
  • Communicate market needs and field observations to Product and Engineering teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector (asset management, performance engineering, operations, or equivalent role)
  • Hands-on experience in operational environments (IPPs, asset owners, OEMs, monitoring, or analytics platforms)
  • Practical experience with SCADA systems, electrical schematics, time-series databases, or APM platforms
  • Ability to analyze time-series data, diagnose performance issues, and validate data quality
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy performance metrics (power curves, availability, yield, losses, variability, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL and data structures
  • Solid understanding of SaaS environments: configuration, APIs, data integration, and complex troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to translate operational requirements into clear and precise software configurations
  • Excellent communication skills with technical clients
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Asset Performance Management (APM) platforms
  • Expertise in wind energy (meteorology, turbine performance, reliability, operations)
  • Experience with complex deployments involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Advanced degree in engineering, energy systems, data science, or a related field
  • Experience facilitating workshops and transforming requirements into concrete solutions

Why This Role

  • Contribute to building a new team and influence its structure from the ground up
  • Have a direct impact on the performance of renewable energy assets
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams
  • Engage in a mission-driven role tied to the energy transition
  • Benefit from growth opportunities as the team expands
  • Enjoy real autonomy and responsibility from day one

Language Requirement

Proficiency in English is required to serve English-speaking clients and collaborate with international teams, as these activities represent a significant portion of the role.
