Infusion Nurse - Lowcountry Oncology Associates

Lowcountry Oncology Associates is seeking an Infusion Nurse to join a team dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality cancer care in a supportive outpatient environment. Responsibilities

• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient and their families, provides blankets, snacks, and beverages.
• Works collaboratively with the Physicians and RN’s to deliver chemotherapy regiments to patients according to Physician orders.
• P Practices safe administration of infusions, injections, and transfusions.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
• Acts as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up including, but not exclusive to providers, social work, dietician, integrative medicine, pharmacy, navigators, laboratory, radiation therapy, genetics, and clinical research.
• Affords assistance with administering shots and phlebotomy as required.
• Reviews all chemotherapy regiments before delivering to patients.
• Put away medical and supply stock as delivered.
• Checks infusion regiments for accuracy, communicates to the clinical care team regarding any concerns.
• Participates in continuing education, in service and department trainings as required.
• Manages a caseload of patients receiving a variety of infusion therapies on an outpatient basis.
• Practice patient confidentiality at all times including abiding by HIPPA requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years experience preferred.
• Experience as an Infusion Nurse or Infusion/IV experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience working in a Hematology and Oncology Office preferred.
• Previous experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license through the State of SC.
