Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment.
  • Assess patients and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
  • Manage emergency patient situations, including codes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and care procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with nursing practices.
  • Follow CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, perform hand hygiene according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing [Preferred]
  • Field of study in nursing BSN Graduate from an accredited school of nursing [Required]
  • 1+ years of experience in acute care nursing [Required]
  • Oncology experience [Preferred]
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) [Preferred]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of clinical nursing expertise in oncology care [Required]
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal [Required]
  • Computer proficiency [Required]

Skills

  • Ability to follow CDC isolation guidelines
  • Proper use of PPE
  • Perform hand hygiene according to policy
  • Enforce safety regulations

Schedule

  • Full time
  • Shift: Day
  • Weekends: About 1x per month, about 2 hours (7-9a)
