Job Description

Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology Associates is committed to the care and improvement of human life. In recognition of this commitment, we strive to provide high-quality healthcare in the communities we serve. We are seeking a full-time Oncology Nurse for our practice located in Norwich, CT.

Responsibilities

• Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patient's medical record.
• Consistently demonstrates effective documentation practices and develops strategies to ensure complete documentation of patient care.
• Completes timely and ongoing patient assessments and responses to treatments serving as a key participant on the treatment team.
• Works closely with APRNs and Doctors to ensure appropriate and prescribed treatment plans are followed.
• Oversee triage responsibilities when scheduled.
• Delivers teaching to patients on a variety of different subject matters and medication procedures.
• Administers chemotherapy administration as well as immunotherapy, intravenous gamma globulin, iron infusions, and growth factor support.

Requirements

• Current RN license through the state of CT.
• Previous experience accessing ports and placing IV lines.
• Previous experience in Oncology and working with an oncology EMR preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for the duration of shift and move quickly throughout the infusion center.
