About the role
The Infusion Coordinator Lead oversees the coordination and scheduling of infusion treatments for gastroenterology patients, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient delivery of care. This role acts as the primary liaison between patients, physicians, infusion nurses, and care coordinators.
Responsibilities
- Act as Lead Infusion Coordinator
- Schedule infusions for GI patients
- Navigate EMR and understand GI infusion treatments
- Maintain infusion queues to ensure timely patient scheduling
- Understand and apply protocol for biologics and other GI-related infusions
- Interact with physicians, infusion nurses, and care coordinators to confirm and review infusion plans
- Validate patients' eligibility and medical documentation
- Aid patients with questions and concerns about infusion benefit coverage and appointment details
- Verify insurance and obtain pre-service infusion authorizations
- Communicate a commitment to serving all internal and external customers
- Participate in department quality improvement activities
- Conform to the mission and core values of Gastro Health
- Adhere to corporate compliance initiatives
- Maintain high professional and ethical standards
- Be aware that health care delivery evolves, and responsibilities may expand or contract based on department needs and goals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2-3 years of experience preferred
- Familiarity with biologics and/or infusible medications
- Experience with obtaining insurance benefits and authorizations
- eClinicalWorks (eCW) knowledge desired
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Pay
Competitive compensation offered.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, no weekends or evenings.
