About the role

As an Infrastructure Technician II, you will be a core part of the team that builds, maintains, and optimizes the structured cabling systems powering world-class data centers. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who want to sharpen their fiber and copper cabling skills, gain exposure to complex infrastructure builds, and contribute to high impact, high visibility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver High Quality Structured Cabling Work
  • Install, test, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including fiber optic, copper, communications, and other low voltage systems.
  • Build and remove cabinets, racks, cable trays, pathways, and related data center infrastructure.
  • Perform physical installations and removals with precision, safety, and attention to detail.
  • Champion Safety & Quality
  • Follow all Company and customer safety standards to ensure an Accident Free Everyday environment.
  • Uphold quality, production, and industry best practices in every installation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard free work area to support efficient and safe operations.
  • Interpret and Execute Technical Plans
  • Read and follow project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Apply broad understanding of structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, and commissioning.
  • Ensure installations meet design intent, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support The Team & Mentor Others
  • Work as a proactive member of the team, supporting less experienced technicians and sharing knowledge.
  • Help plan materials, tools, and tasks to keep projects moving smoothly.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, teammates, and customer representatives.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of telecom/structured cabling experience (data center experience a strong plus).
  • OSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
  • First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days.
  • FOA certifications, BICSI cabling certifications, or similar credentials preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions carefully while working with strong independence.
  • Comfortable teaching and learning from peers; contributes positively to team culture.
  • Able to distinguish color for cable identification.
  • Proficient with telecom and construction hand tools, used safely and effectively.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • Highly reliable — shows up on time, prepared, and ready to work.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime based on project needs.
  • Excellent work ethic, integrity, and self-motivation.
  • Reads, writes, and understands English; reliable daily transportation required.

Schedule

Onsite daily at customer or data center locations. Minimal overnight travel (≈5%), but flexibility is required when project needs shift.
