About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role is responsible for executing a strategic plan to improve business processes and deploy hyper-scaled cloud infrastructure, including quality control for North and South America (NASA), design validation inspections, and stakeholder communication for delivery schedules.
The Infrastructure Technical Program Manager will support and deploy one of the world’s largest and most complex telecommunication networks within the Global Connectivity Infrastructure Delivery - Fiber Deployment (GCID-FD) organization. This team manages project delivery, quality, and fiber capacity for the physical network solutions driving Amazon’s internal infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Report to the NASA GCID-FD Deployment Manager and provide updates to NASA and Global Senior management
- Drive overall Network Infrastructure strategy as a key member of the North/South America GCID-FD team
- Manage vendor delivery timelines, measure progress, and rate performance through quality KPIs
- Build a quality management program to track defects, mitigate risks, standardize root cause analysis, and implement performance measures
- Create standardized reporting for MFP&A and deliver regular deployment progress updates to management and stakeholders
- Manage approved network plans with internal customers and construction vendors through to in-service delivery
- Simultaneously manage multiple competing projects/programs, some at global scale
- Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, vendors, and senior management
- Conduct physical audits of completed construction, review fiber test results, and hand off deliverables to internal customers
- Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk/escalations, and balance business needs vs. technical constraints
- Coordinate access and approvals for security-regulated sites
- Travel to the field for onsite visits, generate weekly reports, and update standards/specifications for a global deployment team
About the team
The Global Connectivity Infrastructure Delivery - Fiber Deployment (GCID-FD) team plans, manages, and delivers physical fiber optic network infrastructure across North and South America. The team partners with construction vendors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deploy large-scale fiber networks on time and to the highest quality standards. Through rigorous vendor management, quality control programs, and cross-functional collaboration, GCID-FD ensures network infrastructure moves from approved plans to in-service delivery.
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software)
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
- 3+ years managing third-party construction or infrastructure vendors, including tracking delivery timelines, measuring performance through KPIs, and implementing corrective actions
- 3+ years auditing completed construction, reviewing fiber test results or similar deliverables, and coordinating site access in security-regulated environments
- 3+ years proactively identifying deployment bottlenecks, managing escalations, and balancing business needs against technical constraints

Pay
- USA, CO, Denver: $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually
Final compensation will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs), determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
Schedule
This position requires onsite visits to physical locations and is not fully remote. Physical inspections and learning technical standards for outside and inside fiber plant are required.
