About the role

The Infrastructure Systems Engineer supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and improvement of engineering development and reference infrastructure. This role focuses on non-production systems and networks used by engineering teams and works under general direction from senior engineers or infrastructure leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support engineering LAN environments, including VLANs, routing, NAT, and subnetting.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers using CLI.
  • Manage firewall configurations and security policies for development networks.
  • Administer Windows Server systems and support VMware vSphere/ESXi and Hyper-V environments.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical infrastructure.
  • Manage backup operations and support recovery activities.
  • Install and maintain HP and Dell server hardware.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to provision systems and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or network engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Strong proficiency with VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Proven experience with LAN/WAN networking, Cisco CLI, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience supporting engineering, development, or non-production environments.
  • The ability to troubleshoot complex systems and collaborate effectively with DevOps or engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills and take ownership of systems reliability, documentation, and uptime.

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
