Infrastructure Systems Administrator
Your combination of people skills and system administrator and cybersecurity expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. Use those skills to improve the technology supporting warfighters by installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments. Apply systems updates, patches, and conduct various scans to maintain cyber compliance, helping to build, field, and sustain next-gen software solutions and deploy cybersecurity solutions leveraged across the Department of War.
About the role
As a system administrator and cyber analyst, you’ll install, configure, and manage RHEL and Windows operating systems to ensure they meet client needs while complying with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Assess and manage system performance, author documentation for configuration changes, procedure updates, and troubleshooting guides. As a client-facing asset, communicate technical challenges, risks, and executable, affordable solution options. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network, turning metrics into actionable information to help your team better understand the network. Share expertise through leadership, modernize the network, and help clients achieve their goals while resolving daily challenges to improve warfighter lethality, awareness, and decision-making.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with Linux systems engineering or administration
- Experience with RHEL 8 or 9
- Experience in shell scripting and automation
- Experience with monitoring and cybersecurity tools, including ACAS Security Center, Evaluate STIG, SCAP, STIG Viewer, or Nessus Scanner
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hypervisor, or KVM
- Experience with containerization, including Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of system hardening, security best practices, and networking concepts, including IPv4, SSH, and Firewalls
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- HS diploma or GED
Nice to have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and incident response frameworks
- Knowledge of changes in RHEL 10
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification

Pay
Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work Model
Our people-first culture prioritizes collaboration, whether in person or virtually. Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings. This position may be:
- Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with expectations aligned to leadership and role needs. May require visits to customer facilities.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required.
