About the role
UST is searching for an Infrastructure Support Technician Assistant II to assist with the physical setup and maintenance of our data centre and lab environments.
- Rack and stack servers, switches, and other hardware in data center and lab environments following standard procedures.
- Run, dress, label, and bundle network and power cables in a clean, organized manner.
- Transport equipment using carts, dollies, and other material-handling tools; safely lift and move hardware throughout the facility.
- Sort, stage, and organize hardware components, spare parts, and accessories in storage areas.
- Decommission and de-rack equipment, properly dispose of or return hardware as directed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow all physical safety guidelines when handling equipment.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and inventorying incoming equipment shipments.
- Support the infrastructure team with general tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; no college degree necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as pushing carts, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a data center or lab environment with attention to physical safety practices.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail when labeling, sorting, and organizing equipment.
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- No prior IT or data center experience required; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and hardware is a plus but not required.
Pay
Compensation range for this role in Oregon: $38,000–$57,000.
