About the role
We are looking for an experienced IT Manager/Director to provide contract leadership for a nonprofit organization in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This onsite role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can oversee daily infrastructure operations, guide a small technical team, and maintain a stable, secure technology environment. The position is well suited for someone who combines strategic oversight with practical technical expertise across networking, systems administration, and support services. As a Contract position, this opportunity calls for immediate impact and dependable interim leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day IT operations for the organization's onsite environment in Green Bay, Wisconsin, ensuring reliable performance across infrastructure and end-user systems.
- Supervise and support two direct reports, setting priorities, providing guidance, and helping the team deliver responsive technical service.
- Manage core network components such as switches, routers, and firewalls to maintain connectivity, performance, and security.
- Oversee infrastructure health by coordinating system maintenance, monitoring issues, and addressing risks before they affect business operations.
- Administer Active Directory and related access controls to support secure user management and appropriate system permissions.
- Direct backup and recovery practices to help protect organizational data and support business continuity needs.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for hardware, configuration management, and general infrastructure support across the environment.
- Serve as interim IT leadership, partnering with internal stakeholders to keep technology services aligned with operational priorities.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in IT leadership, infrastructure management, or a similar technical management role.
- Strong working knowledge of network administration, including switches, routers, and firewall technologies.
- Experience supporting and managing Active Directory in a business environment.
- Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery practices.
- Hands-on background with computer hardware, system support, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience with configuration management and maintaining consistent technical standards across systems.
- Ability to lead onsite operations effectively while supervising a small technical team.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is helpful but not required.
