Our partner is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer – Vulnerability, DevOps & Automation based in United States. This is an opportunity to strengthen the security, reliability, and automation of large-scale enterprise infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments. You will take ownership of vulnerability remediation and automated OS patching initiatives across production and non-production systems. The role combines infrastructure engineering, DevOps, automation, security, and operational troubleshooting in a highly collaborative environment. You will work closely with application teams, risk management, and IT stakeholders to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and compliant. Your work will directly contribute to reducing infrastructure risk while improving the efficiency and consistency of patching processes. You will also help advance automation practices and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure teams. This remote contract role is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and driving measurable operational improvements. Accountabilities Lead and execute vulnerability remediation initiatives across Windows and Linux servers, ensuring alignment with enterprise security requirements.Plan, coordinate, and support automated operating system patching across production and non-production environments while minimizing disruption and downtime.Collaborate with application teams, risk management, and IT stakeholders to validate systems before and after patching activities.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement, planning activities, and peer reviews, to prioritize remediation work and deliver against deadlines.Support change management processes by contributing to ServiceNow change requests, securing required approvals, assessing risks, and maintaining appropriate documentation.Troubleshoot and resolve patching and remediation issues affecting system stability, performance, availability, or compliance.Develop and improve infrastructure automation, with a focus on making vulnerability remediation and patching processes more efficient, scalable, and repeatable.Engage with DevOps and infrastructure communities of practice to share knowledge and identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.Proactively identify and address infrastructure vulnerabilities to maintain compliance with internal security policies and standards.Communicate patching schedules, technical expectations, risks, and validation requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate with and mentor peers within infrastructure vulnerability and DevOps teams to maintain secure and highly available systems.Maintain effective working knowledge of collaboration and engineering tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Git. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Strong infrastructure engineering experience supporting large-scale Windows Server and Linux Server environments.Demonstrated expertise with DevOps practices and Git-based repositories.Hands-on experience developing infrastructure automation, preferably using Ansible or comparable automation technologies.Proven experience in infrastructure vulnerability identification and remediation.Strong experience with Windows and Linux operating system patching in enterprise environments.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on system stability, performance, security, and compliance.Practical experience with tools such as Git, VS Code, Windsurf AI, and GitHub Copilot.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across infrastructure, application, security, and business teams.Experience with AI technologies and MCP servers is an advantage.Familiarity with CI/CD workflow integration and infrastructure automation pipelines is desirable.Experience with API automation and integrations involving platforms such as Tanium, ServiceNow, Red Hat Satellite, Splunk, or Dynatrace is a plus.Background in system integration projects and experience working in Agile environments are advantageous.Previous involvement in infrastructure communities of practice is considered a plus.
