Infrastructure Engineer - Infrastructure Automation
Within Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT), this role focuses on building automation tools, reusable frameworks, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reliability across enterprise infrastructure platforms. The engineer will partner with infrastructure, platform, application, and security teams while using technologies such as Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Git, REST APIs, and AI-assisted engineering tools. Practical business problems include remediation, patching, and certificate management.
Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions, automation tools, reusable frameworks, and integrations that reduce manual engineering effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain code using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Git, REST APIs, and related automation technologies while supporting code quality, testing, documentation, and collaborative development practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, accelerate solution delivery, enhance documentation, support troubleshooting, and identify practical use cases for emerging AI capabilities.
- Contribute to AI-enabled and agentic workflow experiments that improve operational efficiency, reduce repetitive work, and support engineering teams.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Ansible, PowerShell scripting, Infrastructure as Code concepts, orchestration practices, and reusable automation patterns.
- Partner with infrastructure, platform, application, architecture, security, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, delivery speed, and operational consistency.
- Support remediation, patching, certificate-related, and compliance initiatives by identifying opportunities to eliminate manual work through automation.
- Document solutions, communicate progress with stakeholders, and provide timely updates while developing an understanding of infrastructure processes, policies, and risk controls.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 2+ years of software development, automation engineering, technology infrastructure engineering, or related experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing solutions using Python or Java.
- 2+ years of experience using Ansible and PowerShell to automate infrastructure, platform, or operational tasks.
- 2+ years of experience using Git, REST APIs, integrations, automation workflows, and collaborative development practices.
- 2+ years of experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor AI, Devin, ChatGPT, or similar tools to improve engineering productivity.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing, and deployment practices.
- Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar automation technologies.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or AI-powered engineering tools, including hands-on experimentation with agentic coding platforms, automation agents, or similar emerging AI technologies.
- Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across infrastructure, platform, application, security, and operations teams.
- Interest in emerging AI technologies, AI-assisted engineering practices, and agentic workflows.
- Demonstrated curiosity in applying AI capabilities to solve engineering, automation, documentation, or troubleshooting problems.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, server remediation, patch management, SSL certificates, PKI, security controls, or compliance processes.
- Experience with tools such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, SCCM, MECM, WSUS, Red Hat Satellite, observability platforms, or similar enterprise infrastructure technologies.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to identify manual processes and implement automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
Job Expectations
- Position must be located in a listed location on the job requisition.
- Minimum 3 days/week in office requirement.
Pay
$37.02 - $69.71 per hour. Reflected pay is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
