Responsibilities
- Works across a large breadth of technologies
- Focuses on hands-on prototyping, research efforts, and Proof of Concepts (POCs)
- Collaborates with ET product teams to understand and evaluate technical requirements
- Works closely with IEOM Service Delivery teams and a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to evaluate and validate proposed technical solutions and changes
- Works closely with IEOM Area Level Architecture to identify areas of improvement, changes to architectural standards, and future state capability strategies
- Works with the Project Support Office (PSO) as technical resources in validation of project estimates and requirements or as technical resources on defined projects
- Focused on Network Engineering – specifically Data Center LAN, Data Center WAN, Load Balancing, and DNS
Qualifications
- Result-driven self-starter with a passion for researching and hands-on proof-of-concept work
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, able to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Effective collaboration skills and communication skills to work across teams, document research/POC findings/architectural decisions, and showcase work
- Knowledge of security principles and governance/risk processes
- Ability to work with vendors and establish professional relationships
- Ability to represent State Farm at various conferences and council meetings
Preferred Skills
- Foster innovation, encourage diversity of thought, and incorporate new ideas
- Proficiencies in Data Center LAN, F5 load balancing, DNS, or Data Center WAN
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system performance and availability
- Certifications in network technologies or infrastructure-related certifications
