Infrastructure Engineer
About the role
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in the IT Operations team, focusing on the design, migration, implementation, enhancement, optimization, and maintenance of the enterprise network and IT infrastructure. They also oversee the day-to-day health of the network infrastructure, ensuring stability, capacity, and organizational productivity.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and assist with network infrastructure integration and consolidation efforts across multiple network environments.
- Oversee the day-to-day health of the enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on assuring stability, capacity, and organizational productivity.
- Provide advanced application-level support for the resolution of network-related requests.
- Address and resolve technical problems relating to the installation, upgrade, and daily operation of local and regionally distributed network infrastructure.
- Interface with technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements relating to network infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Datacenter Manager to establish and deliver consistent technical direction and analyze performance metrics.
- Document engineering standards and proposals, and assist in the development of network designs, changes, and configuration management.
- Assist in evaluating current and emerging networking technologies, conduct technical assessments, and make recommendations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is required.
- A minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience is required in the implementation and administration of complex, multi-location, multi-vendor, converged voice/data networks in a geographically distributed environment.
- Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Automate, Windows Administration, PowerShell scripting, Active Directory and Group Policy management, Virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper-V, networking products including Cisco, Extreme, and Meraki, client-to-site and site-to-site VPN technologies, Microsoft Azure, network and security monitoring tools such as Syslog, SNMP, Splunk, and SolarWinds, and network security concepts and technologies including SSH, IPSec, RADIUS, TACACS, firewall policies, and 802.1x.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is required.
Skills
- SharePoint Online experience, including configuring sites.
- Microsoft Power Automate experience, including troubleshooting and building new workflows.
- Windows Administration.
- PowerShell scripting.
- Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
- Experience with networking products, including Cisco, Extreme, and Meraki.
