Infrastructure & Capital Projects - Senior Tunnel Construction Manager, ANS

You'll help develop and deliver the factories, grids, transit systems, and public infrastructure that keep communities moving - and do it smarter, safer, and more sustainably than ever before. You'll work alongside project managers, engineers, technologists, and strategists who blend real-world experience with digital innovation and AI, transforming how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the tunneling technical lead on major underground infrastructure projects
- Lead constructability reviews during design development
- Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and technical submittals
- Support procurement planning and contractor evaluation
- Provide construction management oversight during shaft excavation, microtunneling, TBM operations, and tunnel construction
- Review contractor means and methods
- Evaluate tunneling risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Review instrumentation and monitoring programs
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities
- Participate in client meetings and technical workshops
- Support proposal development and interviews for Water, Transit, and Infrastructure pursuits
- Mentor project teams on tunneling best practices
Requirements
- 15+ years of tunneling and underground construction experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM), microtunneling, slurry and EPB machines, deep shaft construction, underground construction management, geotechnical engineering, QA/QC, constructability reviews, and contractor oversight
- Experience on owner-side or CM projects preferred
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Experience supporting proposals and technical interviews is highly desirable
- Experience on one or more of the following: water transmission tunnels, wastewater tunnels, rail transit tunnels, highway tunnels, utility tunnels, major underground infrastructure programs
Pay
$230,000 - $260,000 a year
Schedule
Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center. With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities.
