The Work

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise commissioning and testing activities for electrical substations, ensuring compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams during commissioning, providing technical guidance, and resolving on-site issues.
  • Review, validate, and document test procedures and results to ensure alignment with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors, design engineers, operations teams, and clients to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain project timelines, budgets, and safety standards throughout all phases of testing and commissioning.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • BS/BA degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET (or Owner approved equivalent) accredited college/university.
  • 10 years’ experience in the following areas:
    • Construction, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment
    • Relay protection and control systems
    • Start-up and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
    • Electrical Field engineering
    • Arc Flash safety training
    • Troubleshooting of electrical equipment or systems

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • SCADA and communication systems
  • Specialized advanced training (e.g., PTI, WPI, ECNE PUI, a graduate level engineering degree)
  • Professional experience in commissioning and testing of electrical substations, including supervision of construction, commissioning, and energization activities
  • Professional knowledge of electrical systems, protection & control, and substation equipment
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in the field
  • Professional experience with problem-solving and decision-making under project deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site across New York State

Pay

$130,000 - $135,000 a year

Schedule & Location

Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center. With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
