About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Responsibilities
- Move and implement large enterprise equipment
- Install fiber and copper cabling and patching between equipment
- Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation
- Follow established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities
- Safely use material handling tools and equipment
- Travel within and outside of the regional work area as required
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including participation in primary responder rotation and after-hours support
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
Requirements
- 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience, or experience in similar technical roles
- 2+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment (including VFL, power meter, and OTDR) experience
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed (over 50 miles or less than 50 miles based on business needs)
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT-related roles
- Certification in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, or CCNA)
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Experience conducting behavioral interviews and hiring
Pay
USA, MS, Canton - $27.83 - $48.75 USD hourly
