What You’ll Do
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support across Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues involving endpoints, networks, infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Administer and support core networking environments, including firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and routing.
- Support and optimize cloud platforms and modern IT environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and other SaaS infrastructure.
- Affiliate in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud and hybrid architecture for client environments.
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions that improve reliability, performance, and security.
- Design and implement automation scripts and tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline support and administration tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams on deployments, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain and enhance our internal knowledge base with clear documentation, diagrams, troubleshooting steps, and technical standards.
- Participate in a one-week rotating on-call schedule (emergencies are rare).
- Mentor Tier 1 technicians and contribute to a culture of technical growth and operational excellence.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of hands-on IT support, systems administration, or MSP experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across desktops, servers, networking, and cloud platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewall management.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and cloud architecture concepts, including identity, virtual machines, storage, networking, and security best practices.
- Experience working with virtualization platforms, backup systems, and business continuity solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to end users and document solutions thoroughly.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude with a passion for continuous improvement and client success.
Nice-to-Have
- Hyper-V/VM ware experience.
- Familiarity with traditional RDS environments and AVD.
- Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Azure, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience with firewalls, managed switches, wireless platforms, and network monitoring tools.
- Experience with remote-monitoring and management (RMM) tools and PSA/ticketing systems.
- Scripting or automation experience in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Exposure to cloud migrations, infrastructure projects, and security hardening.
- Experience in an MSP environment supporting multiple client networks and environments.
