Information Technology Support Specialist
St. John's Episcopal School, a faith-based independent school in Rancho Santa Margarita for students two years old through eighth grade, is hiring an IT Support Specialist to join its Information Technology team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Innovation and Learning Officer and working in close coordination with the Systems & Database Administrator, the IT Support Specialist serves as the primary hands-on technology support resource for St. John's Episcopal School. The Specialist provides direct, day-to-day assistance to faculty, staff, and students across all technology needs, including hardware and software setup, audio-visual systems, physical network tasks, and the general upkeep of the school's technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary and first responder for all technology support requests from faculty, staff, and students, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, connectivity, and audio-visual issues in a timely manner.
- Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Intune, Mosyle) for imaging, deployment, updates, and patching of computers and mobile devices; provision and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 under the direction of the Systems & Database Administrator.
- Assemble, install, configure, and test computer hardware, peripherals, and incoming equipment, including computers, mobile devices, phone systems, and audio-visual equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain audio and video equipment in classrooms, the auditorium, and meeting rooms; set up and manage audio-visual support for school events and presentations, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Assist with the physical maintenance of the school's network infrastructure (cabling, patch panels, hardware components); maintain IT asset inventory and coordinate warranty and repair work with vendors.
- Support the deployment of applications through enterprise imaging and software distribution technologies (e.g., GoGuardian), and help maintain system security and the protection of confidential information and electronic data.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports related to user accounts, work performed, and parts inventory; attend technology-related workshops and conferences to maintain current knowledge.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Any combination equivalent to an associate's degree and two or more years of relevant hands-on IT support experience.
- Technical certifications desired: CompTIA Network+, Microsoft 365, Apple, GoGuardian, Mosyle, Intune.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and basic network fundamentals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users with patience and clarity.

- Ability to perform some climbing and balancing for equipment installation and maintenance.

Pay
Anticipated Salary Range: $60,000 – $68,000, with placement based on education, experience, and St. John's established compensation framework.
Non-Exempt, Hourly — Full-Time, 12-Month Position.
