INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST III
About the role
The Employment Development Department's (EDD) Information Technology Branch seeks a highly motivated, creative, and analytical Business Application and End User Architect. This position will work directly with management, other technical architects, engineers, and associate service roles in the Cloud Technologies Section, other division sections, the Information Security Office, Enterprise IT, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and deploy end-user device tools and systems to ensure EDD servers and workstations are up to date and protected from vulnerabilities.
- Architect for EDD's Desktop and Application Virtualization as well as Business Application Server integration.
- Experience with Cloud-Based Application Delivery, Application Virtualization, Cloud-Based Operating System (OS) delivery, Endpoint Encryption, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and Desktop Virtualization.
Requirements
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in engineering and deploying end user device tools and systems.
- Experience with Cloud-Based Application Delivery, Application Virtualization, Cloud-Based Operating System (OS) delivery, Endpoint Encryption, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and Desktop Virtualization.

- Documenting, migrating, and deploying cloud-based solutions.
- Software-defined network concepts, Cloud computing, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) methodology.
- Enterprise Log Management and Monitoring for End Points.
- Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
- Internal Domain Name Server.
- External Domain Name Server.
- Cloud-based Application Delivery.

- Hands-on, technical cloud computing experience.
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
