Position Overview
Responsible for a variety of information technology solutions for the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts organization. Engages in the maintenance, modification, and enhancement of existing software solutions and automated back-end business processes to improve their efficiency, effectiveness, and relevance. Identifies business process requirements through collaboration with subject matter experts and develops software application solutions to optimize operational efficiency within the organization.
Summary Of Job Duties
- Develop, update, and maintain in-house or commercial off-the-shelf software solutions to handle specific jobs; conduct testing of programs and software applications to guarantee they produce the desired results.
- Develop software validation procedures, programming, and documentation of software systems.
- Modify existing in-house software solutions to adapt them to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance; identify and correct issues in existing software solutions.
- Design, build, or maintain web sites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
- Consult with users to define and resolve problems using software solutions.
- Oversee the performance of in-house and commercial off-the-shelf software solutions; work with other information technology staff to coordinate and perform maintenance of software systems.
- Train users in the proper use of computer software solutions or hardware.
- Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and organizational values.
- Communicate and collaborate with diverse individuals from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Knowledge and Skills
- Computer hardware and software, including off-the-shelf software solutions and software development kits
- C# (.NET Framework) programming language and in web-based programming languages and technologies
- Object-oriented programming concepts and design
- Modern software development life cycle methodologies
- Software debugging and testing
- Formulate and write meaningful software documentation
- Relational database concepts and the ability to develop queries and stored procedures to manipulate data using structured query language (SQL)
- Web service concepts and the ability to bind to and use existing web service methods
- Principles and processes of providing customer service
- Effective communication with internal and external users as well as third-party vendors
- Ability to make and implement decisions based on data analysis
- Effective maintenance concurrent software projects
- Develop creative solutions to problems
Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
- Proficiency in all of the stated knowledge, skills and abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field and at least one (1) year of experience performing similar duties
- At least three (3) years of experience performing similar duties
