Job Overview
Saronic Technologies is seeking an IT Intern to support the tools and systems managed by IT Operations. This role offers hands-on experience contributing to the company’s fast-paced defense technology operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
- Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups
- Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system, ensuring resolutions are well-documented
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data protection and access control
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Basic ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, with comfort in at least one operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- A great customer experience mindset
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and an ability to prioritize tasks
- Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk)
- Exposure to endpoint or device management (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamf, SCCM)
- Familiarity with identity and directory services (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta)
- Familiarity with networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, VPN, ethernet, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Familiarity with security best practices, including data protection and access control
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional standing and walking within the office
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
