This position is based onsite at our Gainesville, FL location and reports to the Director of Information Technology.

The position demands both a "big picture" overview to align with enterprise technology direction and detailed hands-on problem-solving skills.

The Information Technology Engineer will assist the Director of Information Technology in the effective operation and management of information technology, cybersecurity, and related functions. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Information Technology with day-to-day operations of the IT department, including networking, user services, information security, telecommunications, application management, and other IT functions.
  • Coordinate activities with internal IT team members and external partners (e.g., Archway) to resolve issues and support agency acquisition activities.
  • Enforce IT policies and procedures as directed by the Director of Information Technology.
  • Support upgrades to IT systems and applications, and contribute to key objectives set by the Director of Information Technology.
  • Assist with IT compliance in accordance with audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide desktop support, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and execute assigned projects in a multi-entity environment.
  • Document support, repair, and project activities in King’s project management and helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Work autonomously on front-line troubleshooting while recognizing when additional resources are needed.
  • Quickly learn new skills and knowledge to address emerging challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and manage corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, internet access, and email systems.
  • Administer and maintain the telephone system and phones.
  • Install and improve computer software and network equipment.
  • Administer and maintain internal systems, such as Microsoft Entra and document imaging systems.
  • Maintain and monitor proper access to files, programs, and hardware to ensure a secure and confidential electronic environment.
  • Interact professionally with staff, clients, and customers while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support hardware and software for all staff and onsite at other branches.
  • Assist with inventory management of software licenses, hardware, and IT supplies.
  • Promote responsible usage and care of corporate equipment.
  • Assist the Director of Information Technology with security directives and programs, including firewall maintenance, patching, and phishing/penetration/fraud testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • Familiarity with Network Engineer status and Insurance Agency Management Systems (especially Vertafore and Applied Products).
  • 5+ years of hands-on technology experience and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, cloud-based and local network environments, SharePoint, and network configurations.

Skills

  • Windows desktop and server operating systems, including updates/patch administration.
  • Microsoft 365, including SharePoint.
  • Security systems, including firewalls, antivirus, and VPN configuration.
  • LAN/WAN configuration and management.
  • Backup/Imaging and PC inventory management.
  • Telephony systems.
  • Remote Desktop Administration (RDP, Kaseya).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.

Pay

$55,000–$70,000 per year.
