Information Systems Security Engineer
About the role
Supports United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S) rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats.
Responsibilities
- Has an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity policies and procedures for government sector information and mission systems and sufficient technical knowledge and experience to implement them.
- Develops and implements custom and commercial tools and applications (e.g. Zeek), integrated with DCO-S enterprise tool suites.
- Provides hands on security and compliance guidance and work with Scrum Masters and product owners in concert with system requirements that are being developed and implementing cloud computing.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and minimum of 18+ years’ related professional experience; or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and minimum 10+ years' related professional experience.
- Advanced Qualification for Information Security Systems Developer (631) from DoDI 8140.
Qualifications
- Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command or Combat Forces Command Defensive Cyber Operations.
- Must possess a Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- SAR/SAP experience highly desirable.

Pay
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $165,000/year to $210,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
Schedule
Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.
