Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the 805th Combat Training Squadron at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a 1-year or 2-year probationary/trial period.

Responsibilities

• Supports IT policy and plans for the 805th Combat Training Sq.
• Manages cybersecurity programs across multiple platforms and classification levels.
• Explores, integrates, and advances C2 and C4I systems and processes.
• Ensures compliance with IT security requirements through accreditation reviews.
• Provides advice and guidance on implementing IT security policies and procedures.
• Monitors and evaluates system compliance with IT security requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• Knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods
• Understanding of the organization's policy and planning process
• Experience with enterprise mission assurance support service (eMASS)
• Knowledge of risk management framework (RMF)
• Experience with NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, Xacta, and DoD IAM Level II or higher baseline certification

Qualifications

• Knowledge of budgetary processes and cost-benefit analysis
• Ability to prepare persuasive budget recommendations in support of IT requirements
• Experience with network operations and protocols
• Experience with systems testing and evaluation
• Experience with security accreditation reviews

Salary Range: $91,000 – 103,000
