About the role

The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) seeks an Associate or Full Professor, tenure-line faculty position as part of an Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Cluster Hire Initiative.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative AI and data science programs
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, data science, and related fields
• Engage in research that aligns with the cluster hire initiative
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment

Requirements

• PhD in Information Science, Library and Information Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field
• Research and teaching experience in AI, data science, or related areas
• Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and delivering AI and data science curricula
• Proven record of scholarly achievement in AI and data science
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Expertise in AI and data science methodologies
• Ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Strong organizational and project management skills

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $130,000-$200,000/year on a 9-month basis
• Salary supplement provided by the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI)
