About the role

Under the administrative direction of the Deputy District Director, Administration (Manager II), the incumbent has full responsibility for providing management support and operational direction to the Public Information Office (PIO), including Public Information, Graphics, Customer Service Request (CSR), California Public Records Act (CPRA), and Executive Assistant functions. As a member of the District 2 Executive Staff, the incumbent works closely with the District Director and members of the Executive Team on matters involving public information, media relations, public outreach, and engagement. The incumbent serves as the primary District-level contact for Legislative Affairs, ensuring timely coordination, communication, and alignment with departmental priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management support and operational direction to the Public Information Office (PIO)
  • Manages Public Information, Graphics, Customer Service Request (CSR), California Public Records Act (CPRA), and Executive Assistant functions

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in public information, media relations, or legislative affairs
  • Experience working with the California Public Records Act (CPRA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
