About the role

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential. Within UNICEF Lebanon, the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Programme and WASH Sector Coordination Team support the delivery and coordination of water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions. The Information Management Assistant contributes to these objectives by managing sector information systems, ensuring data quality and timeliness, producing analytical products and visualizations, supporting mapping and data analysis, and strengthening information management processes.

This role supports the WASH Programme and WASH Sector Coordination Team by ensuring the timely collection, management, analysis, visualization, and dissemination of high-quality information. It serves as a key focal point for information management systems and processes, enabling UNICEF, government counterparts, donors, and sector partners to monitor needs, track responses, identify gaps, and prioritize interventions effectively.

The position is accountable for maintaining information management systems and databases, ensuring data integrity, supporting partner reporting, producing analytical products and dashboards, conducting data and GIS analysis, and developing information products for operational and strategic decision-making. The role also contributes to strengthening information management capacity, improving data quality and reporting compliance, and supporting knowledge management and localization objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain information management systems and databases to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Support the timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of WASH sector data.
  • Produce analytical products, visualizations, and dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Conduct data and GIS analysis to identify needs, monitor progress, and prioritize interventions.
  • Support partner reporting processes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Develop information products (e.g., reports, maps, briefs) for operational and strategic use.
  • Strengthen information management capacity among partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to knowledge management, innovation, and localization efforts within the WASH Sector.
  • Engage with government counterparts, donors, and sector partners to facilitate coordination and accountability.

Requirements

  • A university degree (Bachelor's) in Information Management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), or another relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in information management, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, GIS, statistics, database management, reporting, or programme support.
  • Experience with data collection, data cleaning, data visualization, dashboards, reporting systems, or geographic information systems is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management or visualization tools.
  • Experience in the humanitarian, development, WASH, or United Nations sector is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, including strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of French is an asset.
