Information Assurance Technical Specialist

About the Role

We need your expertise as an information security risk specialist to help government agencies and military organizations understand and mitigate cyber threats. As an Information Assurance Technical Specialist, you’ll work with the Marine Corps to identify cyber risks, interpret policies, and develop actionable mitigation plans. You’ll gather technical, environmental, and personnel details from subject matter experts and engineers to assess the threat landscape, then guide your client through a structured plan of action using presentations, white papers, and milestones. This role involves translating complex security concepts for clients to help them make informed decisions about securing mission-critical systems and critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Perform Information Assurance (IA) controls analysis, testing, and risk assessments.
• Develop and evaluate security documentation, including system security plans, contingency plans, and continuity of operations plans.
• Analyze security procedures and architecture, providing guidance and troubleshooting support.
• Assess the entire threat landscape using details from subject matter experts and engineers.
• Guide clients through mitigation plans using presentations, white papers, and milestones.
• Translate security concepts for non-technical stakeholders to support decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment.
• Experience performing Information Assurance (IA) controls analysis, testing, and risk assessments.
• Experience developing and evaluating security documentation (e.g., system security plans, contingency plans).
• Experience analyzing security procedures and conducting security architecture evaluations.
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• HS diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with DoD Information Assurance and Information Security.
• 5+ years of experience working in the Army Intelligence community.
• Experience analyzing security policies for mid and long-range policy planning.
• Experience with Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
• Ability to organize, analyze, and write technical documents for non-technical audiences.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Clearance

Applicants must hold an active TS/SCI clearance and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Pay

Salary is determined by factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900 to $141,000 (annualized USD).
