Infectious Disease Physician

Job Summary

The Infectious Disease Physician should have extensive training in internal medicine and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease. The Specialist is responsible for focusing on how diseases spread, how the body fights them and how to control them.

Requirements

• J1 Waiver and CONRAD 30 Waiver Candidates Welcome!!!
• Valid NYS Medical License
• Possess a certification of knowledge regarding the treatment, spread, containment and outcome for patients who are suffering from an infectious disease
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual, fluent Spanish strongly preferred
• Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified

• Salary: $180,000-$250,000

Qualifications

• Extensive training in internal medicine
• Specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease
• Experience with diagnostic tests on patients with unidentified or drug resistant infections
• Ability to create a viable treatment plan for patients based on analysis of test results
• Knowledge of how diseases spread, how the body fights them and how to control them
• Experience conducting physical exams and ordering additional laboratory tests
• Experience administering immunizations or instructing patients on infectious disease prevention
• Experience working closely with communities to identify outbreaks and recommend treatment options and measures to prevent diseases from spreading
• Experience conducting research on new strains of illness and tracking community statistics regarding spread and the effectiveness of treatment interventions
