Infectious Disease Licensed Practical Nurse
Nature of Work
Provides specialized clinical support and community-based nursing care to manage, track and prevent the spread of communicable diseases, specifically Tuberculosis (TB). Under the supervision of a TB Nurse Program Supervisor, will be responsible for administering TB treatments, conducting diagnostic testing and providing vital patient education. Requires a blend of clinical precision and empathetic outreach, serving diverse populations in clinic settings, private residences and community health centers.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
Experience: Proficiency in performing clinical and administrative duties in an outpatient clinic setting and in patient homes under the supervision of a registered nurse. Skilled in phlebotomy and other lab specimen collection. Experience administering and reading Tuberculin Skin Tests (TSTs). Experience with making home visits utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment. Experience with electronic medical records and data entry software. Able to assist with Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) protocols.
Licenses or Certifications: Must maintain active LPN license and CPR certification.
Notes: Base will be 1 Harry S. Truman Parkway, but will travel to other locations throughout the county.
