Infection Preventionist / RN

The Location
Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.
The Position
We're looking for a passionate Infection Preventionist / RN to oversee the facility infection control program. Fast-track hiring available with an $8,000 retention bonus!
Responsibilities
- Ensures facility compliance with all regulatory requirements related to education, quality improvement and infection control.
- Aggregates, analyzes and investigates patterns of infection in the facility.
- Implements plan of correction for identified problems and presents at the QAA Committee.
- Oversees employee health issues such as physicals, including the administration of PPD tests and immunizations.
- Conducts outbreak investigation and initiate control measures.
- Reports communicable diseases to the state as required by law.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Registered Nurse with the State of Hawaii Board of Nursing.
- Two years of experience in long-term care preferred.
- Ability to learn the use of quality improvement methods and materials required.
- Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
- First Aid and CPR preferred. (can be done in-house).
