About the Role
An Infection Preventionist is responsible for implementing and overseeing infection control measures within a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct disease surveillance and track infection trends.
- Investigate infection clusters and perform rounds.
- Collaborate on risk mitigation and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with public health agencies.
- Develop and update infection control policies.
- Provide staff education on infection control principles.
- Work with various departments to address infection risks.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Participate in developing infection prevention strategies.
- Conduct employee training sessions.
- Manage on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, or Public Health (Master's preferred).
- At least 2 years of infectious disease experience.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within two years of hire.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of regulatory standards.
