About the Role

As our Infection Prevention Program Manager, you will lead the collaborative approach and implementation of an entity-specific, facility-wide infection prevention and control program. You will work under the direction of the entity Director of Quality and Patient Safety Officer to ensure all aspects of the program are effectively implemented to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates the Annual Infection Prevention Plan and programs for the entity.
  • Ensures all regulatory requirements are continually complied with, including the public reporting of hospital-acquired infections, reportable diseases, and other requested data.
  • Educates physicians and other practitioners on system-based causes for infections, collaborates with medical staff in the review of hospital-acquired infections, identifies and engages with physician champions, and develops standardized yet flexible evidence-based programs supporting effective infection prevention and control strategies.
  • Manages the entity infection prevention/surveillance program, which may include outpatient and/or ambulatory facilities or entities, in accordance with the hospital license.
  • Develops and maintains systems for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections/communicable diseases, including maintaining a database of infections and communicable diseases.
  • Provides strict and continuous oversight of equipment and environmental cleaning, as well as low- and high-level disinfection and sterilization processes throughout the operating group.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of adult learning concepts.
  • Meeting or project facilitation skills.
  • Ability to create and present quality data using tools such as Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, statistical, and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of epidemiological principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field required.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certified Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) required within 6 months of eligibility for certification (Colorado State Requirement).

Qualifications

Preferred: Five (5) years of clinical or related experience.

Pay

$37.76 - $60.47 per hour.
