Infection Prevention Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the infection control program in the hospital.
• Implement and enforce program policies; coordinate all infection prevention and control activities.
• Facilitate ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions.
• Ensure the IP program is in compliance with professional, state, federal and regulatory standards designed to reduce or eliminate spread of infections in the facility.
• Monitor patient care for compliance with established standards.
• Program planning and policy development and implementation; data collection, reporting, education and regulatory compliance.
• Budget planning; manage the department and staff; hire, fire and discipline as needed.
• Responsible for surveillance activities; evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
• Provide education to staff, patients, visitors and families as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's in Healthcare related field.
• Preferred: Masters Degree.
• Required: 2 years of infection prevention experience in an acute care setting.
• Preferred: 3–5 years experience in an acute care setting.
• Required: AHA BLS.
• CIC within 2 years in role.
