Responsibilities

  • Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
  • Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests.
  • Manage and administer the centers COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed.
  • Educate staff on CDC updates, and ensure staff are educated in proper use of PPE.
  • Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required.
  • RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum one (1+) years nursing experience.
  • Long-Term Care / Sub-Acute Care Nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience in Infection Prevention and Control with knowledge of patient care practices.
  • Completion of Infection Prevention training/IPCO Certification within 5 days of employment.
