Infection Control Preventionist -LVN

About the Role

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Control Preventionist assumes responsibility for the Infection Control Program of the facility. This position involves case findings, surveillance, reporting, analysis, interpretation, inspection, control measures, education, consultation, evaluation, recommendations, and training. The role collaborates with all levels of nursing personnel, facility consultants, physicians, department managers, and other employees to assess infection control needs, implement prevention strategies, and manage protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the facility’s Infection Control Program.
• Conduct case findings, surveillance, and reporting of infections.
• Analyze and interpret infection data to inform control measures.
• Perform inspections and recommend infection control protocols.
• Provide education and training on infection control practices to staff.
• Collaborate with nursing personnel, physicians, and department managers to assess and address infection control needs.
• Maintain and update infection control protocols, tracking, and prevention strategies.

Requirements

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in California.
• Advanced educational preparation in infection control.

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
• Minimum of one year of experience in infection control practice.
• Experience in long-term care, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nursing (preferred).
• Nursing experience with leadership and teaching abilities (preferred).

Pay

$55.00 - $68.00 per hour.
