Infection Control Nurse - RN

Stella Maris, located in Timonium, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse (RN) to support our skilled rehab and long-term care units. This role will develop and oversee a comprehensive infection prevention program in collaboration with our clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the facility’s infection control program, ensuring compliance with all government and industry regulations.
• Establish, implement, and review infection control policies and procedures, maintaining an up-to-date manual per COMAR 10.06.01.
• Conduct surveillance of nosocomial infections for residents and employees, including data collection, monthly reporting, and compliance monitoring.
• Monitor, track, investigate, and analyze infections during outbreaks; communicate findings to departments, the Health Department, and SVP of Clinical Operations.
• Initiate control measures and corrective actions for infection outbreaks.
• Ensure reportable diseases are reported according to Health Department specifications.
• Obtain communicable disease status for residents upon admission.
• Investigate infectious diseases, exposures, and outbreaks among personnel; implement preventive measures.
• Educate employees on personal hygiene and infection control best practices.
• Oversee tuberculosis testing, influenza, and HBV vaccination programs for staff, residents, and volunteers; maintain accurate records.
• Chair the Infection Control Committee and report quarterly to the Quality Improvement Committee.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Maryland.
• Infection Control Preventionist (ICP) Certification required; CBIC (Certified Board Infection Control) Certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience.

Pay

USD $38.05 – $57.05 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time position, 64 hours biweekly.
