Infection Control Nurse (LPN/RN)

Join a collaborative and innovative team at Fairview Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a 40-year community fixture in Great Barrington. The facility provides short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care in a quiet residential setting with scenic views of woods and patios.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an Annual Infection Control Risk Assessment and Analysis; develop and review the effectiveness of the Infection Prevention and Control Program’s goals and objectives.
• Implement data collection and surveillance strategies using Infection Prevention and Control Program policies and procedures.
• Use epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigations, including outbreak investigations.
• Collect and compile surveillance data using standardized definitions; report findings to key stakeholders (facility leadership, Safety and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committees).
• Apply statistical analysis to calculate infection risk, evaluate data significance, and recommend improvements.
• Educate healthcare providers, staff, residents, families, and the public on infection prevention and control best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate in developing and delivering educational programs for infection prevention and control.
• Serve as a role model and coach, working with all departments to implement infection prevention practices aligned with regulatory, accreditation, and professional guidelines.
• Assist with occupational health practices to reduce infection transmission risks for staff and residents.
• Promote and assist with immunization programs for staff and residents to reduce vaccine-preventable disease transmission.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Prior infection control experience in acute or long-term care (required).
• 3–5 years of experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as a clinician with minimal supervision.
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Pay

• LPN starting salary range: $35.00 – $39.04/hour (based on experience).
• RN starting salary range: $38.00 – $47.97/hour (based on experience).
• $3,000 sign-on bonus.
