Infection Control and Prevention Specialist
Position Summary
The Infection Control and Prevention Specialist is responsible for monitoring, advising, and supporting infection control practices in alignment with PHS policies and procedures. This role works collaboratively with clinical teams to promote a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
- Implement the infection prevention and control program and education.
- Use clinical knowledge and specialized training to coordinate, deliver and maintain efficient and effective infection prevention and control programs.
- Conduct infection control research and serve as a consultant to other departments to ensure compliance with evidence-based infection control standards.
- Provide clinical education to employees with the goal of providing services excellence and decreasing the risk of infectious disease transmission.
Qualifications
- Must be a licensed nurse in the state in which you practice.
- 2+ years of healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or ability to obtain immediately after hire.
- Knowledge in the field of infectious disease and epidemiology.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement policies and procedures.
- Ability to apply experience with technology and IT based instruction.
- Must have or willing to obtain CPR certification.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and apply adult education.
Pay Range
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $32.45 - $40.56 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
