Infant Teacher

About the role

BVS, a Reggio-inspired Early Enrichment Center, is looking for an outstanding Infant Teacher to join our team. Our program emphasizes the natural world, with time outdoors, natural classroom materials, and a home-like environment. We serve up to 74 children and value strong family and community partnerships. The Infant program operates from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will help foster a child-centered curriculum, model appropriate interactions and caring relationships, and support children’s growth and development. Candidates should have an interest in child development and meet NH Child Care Licensing Standards for Teacher Qualification, while respecting the critical role of families and our nature-inspired philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage children’s participation.
• Actively engage in activities; maintain cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth daily transitions from home to child care.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to obtain Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear a full background check.
• Must pass a health screening.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Prior Infant experience.
• Knowledge of NAEYC and NH CCLU standards.
• Knowledge of a Reggio Approach.
