Industrial Wastewater Staff Process Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The Industrial Water Process Engineer will function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects, applying processes and technologies for various treatment methods. They will receive technical mentoring and guidance from senior engineers, delegate engineering or scientific calculations/drawings to junior staff, collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams, and support the implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for industrial water projects.
- Conduct field work, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing.
- Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff.
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
- Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis' expectations.
- Supporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients.
- Travel as needed for meetings, site visits, etc. (up to 25%).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater field.
- Preferred Master’s degree in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineering.
- 7+ years of experience.
- Professional engineer registration in one or more states.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $70,800 - $123,600. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
