About the role

The Industrial Trades Division Head position is a full-time, exempt, salaried position located at either the Santee Campus or Macy Campus. The starting salary is $55,000 - $59,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with an endorsement in Skilled & Technical Sciences or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Five (5) years work or teaching experience in welding, construction, electrical, solar energy, drafting, plumbing, HVAC.
  • Certified Welding Educator- Certificate through the American Welding Society or College Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Welding or related degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years instructional experience, preferably in a tribal or community college setting.
  • Previous teaching experience in the K-12 setting preferred.
  • Experience supporting students from a range of learning styles, abilities, and skill sets, as well as ability to support students through in-person and remote spheres.
  • A high degree of self-direction and motivation, strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Summary of duties and responsibilities

This full-time faculty position includes a 12-month contract with a minimum of forty hours per week. Activities are divided into three general areas: 50% teaching, 40% service, and 10% research. Teaching schedule may include assignments on other campuses, day, and evening classes. Primary responsibilities include the development and assessment of courses, certificate, and degree programs, as well as the supervision of faculty in the Division.
